He partners with Dietel & Partners’ clients to reimagine what’s possible with their resources and with grantee partners to envision how to make their organizations more sustainable.
Tom brings over 20 years of professional experience as an operator, investor, advisor. While a Managing Director at The Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, Tom established the foundation’s east coast office, identified and supported early-stage social entrepreneurs, and engaged with a variety of funding partners. Prior to that, he was a Partner at New Profit where he helped portfolio organizations refine their business models, add talent, and scale their impact. He honed his operational expertise as the Director of Operations for Grassroot Soccer in South Africa.
Before entering the non-profit arena, Tom worked for White Mountains Capital, evaluating investment opportunities, managing diligence efforts, and working with management teams to improve operations. In an earlier role, Tom consulted to Fortune 500 and private equity clients while at Mainspring. He began his professional career at the Chubb Group.
Tom received his Masters of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Economics from Boston College.
He currently serves on the boards of Compass Working Capital, Seed Global Health, Sanergy, Spark Microgrants, Strive Together, and Knowledge Works Foundation.
A native of Philadelphia, Tom currently lives in New York City. He enjoys hiking, cooking, yoga, and is an avid global traveler.
